Point Blank Shot 2

Q: Expanded mastery 2 with Point Blank Shot seems ambiguous about whether you don't provoke Attacks of Opportunity whenever you make a ranged attack, or if this only applies when using a ranged weapon as a melee weapon. Which is it?

Only while treating it as a melee weapon.

When you use PBS2 to treat your ranged weapon as a melee weapon, it effectively changes the range of your ranged weapon to equal your standard reach, and allows you to threaten with it in that range (thus granting you the ability to flank, make AoOS, and more easily do sneak attacks with it).

Your weapon itself remains a ranged weapon, and retains its normal descriptors. You're still able to use your ranged feats (such as rapid shot etc) with it. You can't use melee-specific feats.

This also means that an archer using PBS2 should get access to their full ranged BAB, not their reduced melee BAB.
