Dagger

Q: Daggers have the slashing or piercing descriptor. What does this mean?

 

It means you can do either slashing damage or piercing damage with a dagger, but not both at the same time. Altering the type of damage you do is a free action. Many GMs handwave the need to 'choose' a damage type and assume the character always uses the best option for the situation.
