Situational Modifiers

It's appropriate to modify any skill check (including those for disrupting attack Stunts) due to situational circumstances. How you modify them depends on the skill being used and what the circumstance is, and need not be the same as you would use for an attack roll under those conditions.

 

For instance, if you're making a Dirsupting Attack vs an Invisible opponent, I either wouldn't allow the use of Spot at all, or would apply a very large penalty (I think the SRD proposes -40) to the check, rather than using a Miss Chance. For another skill, I might use the Miss Chance that would apply to an attack roll, or some other modifier if it seemed more appropriate for the skill.
